BJP 5th Candidate List 2024
The BJP made some significant changes in its candidate lineup for the upcoming elections. Varun Gandhi has been replaced by former Congress leader Jitin Prasada in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. However, Maneka Gandhi, Varun’s mother and former Union Minister, will continue to contest from Sultanpur.
Arun Govil, known for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the TV series Ramayan, is now the BJP’s candidate for the Meerut Lok Sabha seat. Abhijit Gangopadhyay, a former judge of the Calcutta High Court, secured a ticket for the Tamluk seat in West Bengal.
Arjun Singh and Tapas Roy, who recently switched from Trinamool Congress to BJP, will contest from Barrackpore and Kolkata North respectively. Additionally, Rekha Patra, known for her involvement in protests against a former Trinamool Congress leader, will represent BJP from the Bashirhat Lok Sabha constituency.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will contest from Sambalpur, Odisha, and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra from Puri. Rajmata Amrita Roy, a member of the Krishnanagar Royal family who recently joined BJP, will contest from Krishnanagar against Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra.
K Surendran, the Kerala BJP president, will compete against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad. Sita Soren, former JMM MLA and sister-in-law of ex-Chief Minister Hemant Soren, will contest from Dumka.
Today, BJP announced its fifth list, comprising 111 candidates across 17 states.
