Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT, has been arrested by the Noida Police in connection with the snake venom-rave party case. Following questioning, he has been placed in 14-day judicial custody. Last year, Mr. Yadav and five others were accused of organizing rave parties where snake venom was used as a recreational drug, leading to charges under the Wildlife Act in Noida.
The arrest followed a police raid on a banquet hall in sector 51 of Noida on November 3 last year. Five individuals, including four snake charmers, were apprehended, and nine snakes along with poison were seized. It was alleged that besides being used at rave parties, Mr. Yadav utilized snakes for video shoots.
Latest Update in Elvish Yadav Snake Venom Case
A significant development has emerged in the case involving YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who was arrested for allegedly providing snake venom at a rave party. The court has made a decision regarding the charges brought against him under the NDPS Act. Two sections of the Act were dismissed, leaving only four applicable sections.
However, due to an ongoing lawyers’ strike at the Surajpur District Court for the past three days, the hearing for Elvish Yadav’s bail couldn’t proceed. It’s anticipated that his lawyers will submit a bail petition on Thursday. Notably, Section 27/27A of the NDPS Act has been removed, prompting the Noida Police to focus on gathering evidence.
Additionally, the police informed the court on Wednesday that they have added more sections of the NDPS Act to the FIR against Elvish Yadav. Consequently, the court has instructed for a new bail petition to be filed. The accepted sections include 8/22/29/30/32, while 27/27A were rejected.
This means certain charges against Elvish have been dropped. However, the court has retained Special NDPS Act 29, which entails severe penalties.
