New Star Club, the defending champions, won last season’s final in November 2023 by defeating Ankurjyoti Club by seven runs. New Star Club scored 157/5 after being asked to bat first. Parvej Musaraf led the team with a solid 61 off 49 balls, supported by Varun Jajodia’s 76 off 42 balls. Despite a strong effort, Ankurjyoti Club fell short, with Bonojiy Adhikari and Rangajyoti Khargoria taking three and two wickets, respectively.
Among the standout players in this year’s tournament is fast bowler Krishna Das, who has represented Assam in 49 first-class, 23 List A, and 11 T20 matches. He will be playing for Bud Cricket Club in the Assam T20 Pride Cup.
