Prashant Kishor Launches Jan Suraaj Party
Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor officially launched his political party, Jan Suraaj Party, in Patna on Wednesday, with several notable figures in attendance.
Before the launch, he urged the audience to shout the slogan “Jai Bihar” loudly enough to reach states where Biharis have faced abuse and discrimination.
“You must shout ‘Jai Bihar’ so powerfully that no one uses ‘Bihari’ as an insult for you or your children. Your voice must reach Delhi, Bengal—where Bihari students were beaten—and other places like Tamil Nadu and Mumbai,” Kishor emphasized.
His statement followed an incident in Bengal’s Siliguri, where two individuals were arrested for harassing Bihari youth who had come for an exam.
Jan Suraaj began as a campaign where Prashant Kishor connected with thousands of Biharis to understand their challenges.
In his September 30 address, Kishor explained that one of Jan Suraaj’s key goals is to end the political helplessness Biharis have felt for the past 25-30 years, where many voted out of fear, often choosing BJP due to a lack of alternatives to Lalu Prasad. He urged the people of Bihar to build a party that truly represents their collective interests.

Prashant Kishor Criticizes Nitish Kumar’s Leadership
Prashant Kishor, a well-known political strategist, criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, stating that Kumar is no longer capable of running the state effectively. Kishor said that Nitish Kumar isn’t in the right physical, mental, or political condition to continue leading Bihar.
Kishor compared this situation to what happened in the past with the Congress party. He explained that the Congress supported Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of Bihar, during a period known as “jungle raj,” when the state faced law and order issues.
According to Kishor, because the Congress stood by Lalu Yadav, the people of Bihar eventually rejected the party completely. He warned that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might face the same consequences for supporting Nitish Kumar today.
Kishor further pointed out that many people in Bihar are now wondering if Nitish Kumar is still mentally and physically capable of providing the strong leadership the state needs.
He emphasized that the BJP’s decision to continue supporting Kumar is not because they believe in him, but because they feel politically compelled to do so. Kishor suggested that the BJP knows they might lose the next election if Nitish Kumar remains in charge, but they still choose to stand by him for political reasons.
