Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 2: India is in the process of electing members for its 18th Lok Sabha, their lower house of Parliament. This election is happening in several stages, called phases. The second phase of voting is scheduled for April 26, with the first phase already completed on April 19.

In the upcoming second phase of voting, the destiny of several notable candidates will be sealed within the EVMs. Among them are Hema Malini, a two-time MP and Bollywood star running for the BJP in Mathura, Arun Govil, famous for his role in the Ramayana series, competing in Meerut, and Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP contesting in Wayanad against CPI’s Annie Raja and BJP Kerala president K Surendran.
Additionally, there’s the showdown between Shashi Tharoor and Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar in Thiruvananthapuram.
Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 1
In the initial voting phase across 21 states and Union Territories (UTs) for 102 parliamentary seats, nearly 64% of eligible voters cast their ballots. Tripura saw the highest turnout, with over 80% participation, while Bihar had the lowest, with less than 49% turnout.
Additionally, due to incidents of firing, intimidation, and EVM destruction during the April 19 polls, the ECI has scheduled repolling at 11 polling stations in Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency on April 22, as those votes were declared invalid.
