On January 20, Delhi AIIMS revealed its closure plans until 2:30 pm on January 22 due to the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The hospital authorities have instructed the leaders of various units and departments to inform their respective staff about this temporary shutdown.
A representative informed ANI news agency that the hospital is currently rearranging all appointments. In case patients show up, the hospital will make an effort to fit them in. The evening OPDs will continue to operate, as stated by the official.
For scheduled surgeries that can be delayed, new dates will be arranged. However, the official assured India Today TV that individuals arriving at the hospital with emergencies will receive prompt attention.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi will be closed until 2:30 pm on January 22 due to the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony for the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
This decision is in line with the government’s announcement for a Delhi AIIMS half-day closure on January 22, 2024, as part of the nationwide celebration of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya. The closure is effective until 2:30 pm, and all employees are informed of this through an official circular.
Despite the closure, Delhi AIIMS remains on high alert until February 21, 2024. According to a separate circular, critical clinical services will continue to operate during this period, as per the guidelines outlined in the circular dated February 9, 2024, under Emergency Medical Relief (EMR) by DGHS.

Bank Closures and Trading Holiday on January 22
The Ministry of Finance has directed all banks to stay closed on Monday due to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple. In connection with this, the stock market will also be shut down to mark the grand event in Ayodhya.
This decision comes as a modification to Exchange Notice no 20231213-1 dated December 13, 2023, and the attached notification from the Maharashtra General Administration Department on January 19, 2024.
It declares a public holiday on January 22, 2024, in accordance with the RBI press release invoking the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1981. In light of this, MFIs/MFDs/RIAs/RFDs are notified that the Exchange will observe a Trading Holiday on January 22, 2024, specifically on the BSE StAR MF Segment, as stated by the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Additionally, Delhi government offices will also be closed for half a day on January 22, marking the occasion of the Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya. Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has approved a half-day holiday for all Delhi government offices, civic bodies, and other undertakings on January 22, as confirmed by a Raj Niwas official.
