At a press meet in Hyderabad, the film’s producers, Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, along with the movie’s distributors, explained why the release date was moved up.
Naveen shared that this change was made to ensure the film gets more time in theaters, especially in the United States, where it will be released on December 4. By doing this, the film can benefit from a longer opening week at the box office, increasing its chances of success.
He also cleared up a common belief that December is a slow month for movies in the Telugu-speaking states because many people look forward to big movie releases during the Sankranthi festival in January. Naveen pointed out that movies like Akhanda and Animal proved that films released in December can still perform well at the box office.
In addition, the team wanted to secure as many IMAX screens as possible to give Pushpa 2 the best viewing experience for the audience. Naveen confidently expressed that they are expecting the film to break box office records with this strategic release plan.
