Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, who has Type-2 Diabetes, received insulin in Tihar Jail when his blood sugar shot up to 320, according to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) insiders on Tuesday. This happened after Kejriwal disputed the prison administration’s recent statement about his health, claiming he was denied insulin.
Sources said that this was Kejriwal’s first insulin dose while in jail. He has been dealing with high blood sugar levels since his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection to a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy.

Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, faced a health scare in Tihar jail when his blood sugar level spiked to 320. He needed insulin to manage it. Arvind Kejriwal Health Concerns in Jail
Kejriwal sent a letter to the Tihar Superintendent on Monday, expressing his urgent need for insulin because his glucose levels were dangerously high, ranging from 250 to 320.
He accused the jail administration of lying about his health under political pressure.
According to a source from Tihar Jail, doctors from AIIMS had a 40-minute consultation with the AAP leader on Saturday. They assured him that his health issues weren’t severe and advised him to stick to his prescribed medicines.
Kejriwal’s wife arranged this consultation. During the session, doctors checked his Glucose Monitoring Sensor data, diet, and medication records.
During a video consultation, neither Kejriwal nor the doctors mentioned anything about insulin, according to a source.
The AAP claims that Tihar Jail officials are trying to harm their leader by not providing him with insulin.
The situation regarding insulin worsened after the Enforcement Directorate claimed that Kejriwal was intentionally eating foods like mangoes and sweets daily to raise his blood sugar levels and seek medical bail.
In response, his lawyer stated that Kejriwal had only eaten mangoes three times while in jail and had consumed aloo puri as part of a religious offering during Navratra.
