Key Details Revealed on Sinwar’s Final Moments
During a press briefing, Hagari revealed images of an underground hideout equipped with toilets, showers, and a kitchen. The site also contained food, cash, and important documents.
Hamas, however, denied the claims, stating that Sinwar died heroically in battle, and called Hagari’s statements “blatant lies.”
Drone footage from earlier in the week showed Sinwar critically injured, throwing an object at the drone before being fatally shot in the head. The autopsy confirmed his death from a gunshot wound and revealed that one of his fingers had been severed.
Throughout the year-long Israel-Hamas conflict, the Israel Defense Forces had repeatedly come close to capturing Sinwar, but he managed to evade them. Israel finally located his last hideout after finding his DNA on a tissue he had used, Hagari added.
