Reports from Russian media outlets indicate that the assailants hurled explosives, leading to a significant fire outbreak at the Crocus City Hall, situated on the western outskirts of Moscow. Videos circulating on social media depict thick columns of black smoke billowing from the premises, as per Reuters.

The Islamic State terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the assault, as mentioned on the group’s Telegram channel, as reported by Reuters.
