The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will be held across four cities, as confirmed by BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla on Sunday, January 12. This year, the matches will be hosted in Mumbai, Vadodara, Lucknow, and Bengaluru. The tournament is scheduled to kick off in the first week of February.
Initially, Lucknow and Vadodara were shortlisted as potential locations for WPL 2025. However, during the Governing Council meeting held on Sunday, it was decided to expand the tournament to multiple cities for broader reach and excitement.
WPL 2025 Host Cities and Venues
The 2025 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is expected to take place in Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Vadodara, as reported by Sportstar. The tournament is scheduled to begin in the first week of February.
In Mumbai, the matches will be hosted at the Brabourne Stadium. Vadodara’s games will take place at the Kotambi Stadium, also known as the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) Stadium or Vadodara International Cricket Stadium, which opened on December 22 last year. The first international match at this venue was a women’s ODI between India and the West Indies. Matches in Lucknow and Bengaluru will be played at the Ekana Stadium and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, respectively.
For context, Delhi and Bengaluru hosted the 2024 edition of the T20 league, while all matches of the inaugural 2023 season were held in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will enter the 2025 edition as the defending champions.
The WPL is a five-team T20 cricket league featuring Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, UP Warriorz, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Brabourne Stadium to Host Mumbai Leg, Follow Caravan Model
Mr. Shukla, in an interview with Sportstar, confirmed that the Mumbai leg of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be hosted at Brabourne Stadium.
“The matches will be held across four venues, with the Mumbai leg taking place at Brabourne Stadium,” he stated.
Mumbai and Bengaluru were chosen due to their enthusiastic fanbase, as evident from the packed stadiums during previous WPL matches in these cities. This year, the tournament will follow a caravan format, starting in Mumbai before moving to Lucknow and then Bengaluru.
The grand finale is scheduled to take place at the newly constructed Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, located 20 kilometers from the city. This venue recently hosted the ODI series between the Indian women’s team and West Indies and is currently the stage for the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockout matches.
In earlier editions, the WPL was held exclusively in Mumbai in 2023 and across Bengaluru and Delhi in the preceding year.
