IPL 2025 Mega Auction Marquee Players
The upcoming auction in Jeddah on November 24 and 25 will feature some big names, with marquee players divided into two sets. Five overseas players stand out: David Miller, Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Mitchell Starc, and Liam Livingstone. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is in the first set, expected to secure the highest bid at the auction.
Shreyas Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to IPL 2024 victory, and pacer Arshdeep Singh are also in the first set of marquee players. Former Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul is placed in the second set.
Indian fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj, along with spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, are part of the marquee list. However, notable absentees include veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, two-time Purple Cap winner Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ishan Kishan, who fetched Rs 15.50 crore in the 2022 mega auction. Despite this, Ishan is expected to fetch a high price due to the demand for wicketkeepers.
Among the overseas stars, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and T20I sensation Phil Salt are also missing from the marquee list. Maxwell was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Salt, who had a standout season with Kolkata Knight Riders, is not included.
Here are the marquee sets:
