This special initiative, celebrating Nari Shakti for International Women’s Day, allowed these women to connect with his vast audience of over 105 million followers on X and 90 million on Instagram.

PM Modi’s Social Media Handled by Women Achievers on Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Nari Shakti by allowing several accomplished women to manage his social media accounts for the day. Through this initiative, PM Modi emphasized his government’s commitment to empowering women through various schemes and programs.

In a special video shared on X, the Prime Minister expressed his admiration for women achievers and announced the takeover of his social media handles. “We bow to our Nari Shakti on #WomensDay! Our Government has always worked for empowering women, reflecting in our schemes and programs,” PM Modi tweeted.

Chess Grandmaster Vaishali’s Inspiring Story

One of the women featured in this initiative was Chess Grandmaster Vaishali, winner of the Women’s Grand Swiss Tournament 2023. Known as the elder sister of chess prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, Vaishali expressed her excitement about taking over the Prime Minister’s social media accounts.

“I am Vaishali, and I am thrilled to be taking over PM Narendra Modi Ji’s social media properties on #WomensDay. I feel proud to represent India in chess tournaments,” Vaishali wrote. She encouraged families to support girls in sports, acknowledging India’s growing efforts to promote women athletes.

Nuclear and Space Scientists Share Their Journey

Nuclear scientist Elina Mishra and space scientist Shilpi Soni were also among the women managing PM Modi’s social media accounts. Both scientists expressed pride in promoting science and inspiring more women to pursue careers in this field.

Elina Mishra, from Bhubaneswar, fulfilled her dream by joining the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). Meanwhile, Shilpi Soni, from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, celebrated her 24-year journey at ISRO, contributing to over 35 communication and navigation missions.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneur Anita Devi, from Bihar’s Nalanda district, shared her inspiring journey of building Madhopur Farmers Producer Company Limited. Starting her business nine years ago with mushroom farming, Anita has empowered hundreds of women by providing employment opportunities. Her company now supplies essential agricultural products like fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides at affordable prices.

Promoting Accessibility and Inclusion

Anjlee Agarwal, a passionate advocate for universal accessibility, also participated in the initiative. As the founder of Samarthyam Centre for Universal Accessibility, Anjlee has dedicated over three decades to improving infrastructure for people with disabilities.

In her post, Anjlee encouraged people to support the Sugamya Bharat initiative for inclusive mobility, reinforcing her vision of a barrier-free India.

Celebrating Women Achievers

This is not the first time PM Modi has given women achievers the opportunity to handle his social media accounts. In 2020, a similar initiative featured seven inspiring women leaders. This gesture continues to highlight India’s focus on celebrating and empowering women across various sectors.
