The government is gearing up to address the Opposition’s expected questions about the alleged problems in the NEET-UG exam when Parliament meets on Friday, sources told India Today TV.
During the recent session in the Lok Sabha, the atmosphere was chaotic as new members were being sworn in. Many Opposition MPs shouted slogans about the NEET exam issues while members of the ruling NDA were taking their oaths.
Sources suggest that the Opposition might bring up the NEET issue during the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. If this happens, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is likely to step in and respond to the concerns raised in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
Opposition to Raise NEET Issue in Parliament

The opposition intends to discuss issues like NEET, inflation, unemployment, and the alleged misuse of CBI, ED, and the governor’s office during the debate on President Droupadi Murmu’s address. Opposition members will gather at the Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex on Monday.

During a meeting at Congress President Malikarjun Kharge’s residence, leaders of the INDIA bloc discussed the NEET issue in detail. They agreed to push for a debate on this matter in both Houses of Parliament.

Opposition Leaders Criticize President’s Address
Left Leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya announced that on Friday, they will insist on discussing the NEET issue and expect the government to respond. He added that they will also participate in the Vote of Thanks to the President’s address starting Monday.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, held two meetings with floor leaders within three days to ensure proper coordination. On Thursday, Kharge criticized the President’s address to a joint session of Parliament, pointing out the lack of mention of NEET irregularities and other important issues.
Kharge posted on X, stating that the President’s address, crafted by the Modi government, reflected a state of denial. He argued that the election results showed a rejection of Modi’s “400 plus” slogan, as the BJP did not achieve the desired 272 seats.
Kharge accused Modi of pretending that nothing has changed and trying to gain applause through misleading statements read by the President, which the people of India have rejected in the 2024 elections.
