Government Plans Nationwide Mock Drills on May 7

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked all states and union territories in India to carry out mock drills to test their emergency preparedness. These drills are meant to help the government and local authorities check how ready they are to deal with new and more complicated security threats.

This decision comes after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which has increased tension between India and Pakistan. The government wants to make sure that all regions are prepared to respond quickly and effectively if such attacks happen again.

The mock drills will take place on May 7 in 244 districts across the country that have been identified for civil defence activities. During these drills, emergency response teams will practice handling crisis situations, such as terrorist attacks, natural disasters, or other major emergencies.
