The landslide struck near a gurdwara around 5 PM, when a massive tree, along with debris, collapsed onto people sitting by the roadside. The injured victims were immediately taken to Jari Hospital for treatment.
Among those who lost their lives were a roadside vendor, a car driver, and three tourists who happened to be at the site when the disaster occurred.
Tragic Landslide in Kullu
On Sunday, a tragic landslide, combined with a falling tree, took place near Gurdwara Manikaran Sahib in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of six people and injuring five others.
The Himachal Pradesh incident happened when a tree was uprooted by a storm and landslide on a mountain across from the Gurdwara. The large tree fell onto the road, hitting several vehicles that were parked near the Gurdwara parking area. Six people, including those in the vehicles and bystanders, lost their lives. Additionally, five others were injured in the incident.
Ashwani Kumar, the Additional District Magistrate of Kullu, shared that the rescue teams and police quickly reached the spot to assist. They rushed the injured people to the local community hospital in Jari for immediate medical care.
Kullu MLA Sunder Singh Thakur also confirmed the situation, stating that the authorities were working at the site to transport the bodies of the deceased and the injured to the hospital. The police team, along with district administration officials, were present at the scene, managing the situation.
The storm and landslide caused the tree on the opposite mountain to fall, hitting parked vehicles and causing a devastating outcome. This unfortunate event left six people dead and three others seriously injured.
The injured victims have been admitted to Jari Hospital for treatment, officials confirmed.
Kullu’s Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vikas Shukla, stated that medical teams, police, and revenue officials are actively present at the site, working together to carry out rescue and relief operations efficiently.

Himachal Pradesh recently experienced heavy rainfall and snowfall, leading to landslides in multiple regions. The extreme weather caused road blockages and severe damage, particularly in Kullu, where rushing waters swept debris onto vehicles.
