Revised Delhi Metro Timings
In an official announcement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced changes to the first and last train timings across all metro lines, including adjustments for both weekdays and weekends during the IPL 2025 season.
On weekdays, the first trains will begin 30–40 minutes earlier than usual to accommodate early commuters and cricket fans heading to matches. However, on weekends, some metro services will be reduced, focusing on optimizing operations based on passenger flow.
These timing changes also come as part of broader operational measures, including the rollout of subsidized train services ahead of anticipated fuel price hikes.
In addition to the metro, bus services in Delhi will also be adjusted. During the summer of 2026, buses will run more frequently during peak hours to improve public transport availability and enhance profitability.
Travel Cards, Tokens & Metro Services During IPL 2025
To manage large crowds during IPL 2025 matches, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has urged passengers to purchase travel cards or tokens in advance. This will help avoid last-minute queues and ensure smooth entry into the stations, especially near the stadium.
DMRC has also deployed additional staff at key metro stations to handle the rush more efficiently during match hours.
Extra Feeder Buses for IPL Match Days
On match days, special feeder buses under the SBAS V service will run before and after the games. These buses are scheduled to connect with extended metro services till 12:00 am, helping fans return home late at night. DMRC has also arranged for additional buses during IPL evenings to ease the commute further.
Why These Arrangements Matter
In the past, DMRC has extended services during major events and busy calendar dates. These periods often cause heavy congestion and increased passenger traffic, especially around popular venues.
During IPL matches, Delhi Metro trains are usually overcrowded due to a massive influx of fans, making crowd management crucial.
Important Reminder for IPL Fans
The extension of Delhi Metro timings during IPL 2025 is a big relief for fans attending late-night matches. Commuters are advised to check the latest metro schedule on the DMRC website or mobile app before traveling.
This move shows DMRC’s proactive approach to supporting Delhi’s growing transport needs, especially during high-traffic events like the IPL.
