Atul Subhash’s Wife Nikita, Mother, and Brother Arrested

In a tragic turn of events, Bengaluru Police have arrested 34-year-old techie Atul Subhash’s estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, along with her mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, on charges of abetment to suicide.

Atul, originally from Samastipur, Bihar, was found dead in his Bengaluru apartment last Monday. He left behind a 24-page suicide note and an 80-minute video accusing Nikita and her family of harassment and extortion.

Nikita was apprehended in Gurugram, while her mother and brother were arrested in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Nikita’s uncle, Sushil, who is also named in the case, remains absconding. The Singhania family has been presented in court and remanded to judicial custody after failing to respond to a three-day police summons.

Atul’s suicide and the detailed accusations in his note have sparked widespread outrage. Each page of his note began with the phrase “justice is due,” reflecting his emotional turmoil. This incident has raised significant concerns about harassment and the mental health struggles faced by individuals in such situations.

Atul Subhash’s Suicide Note and Video

Atul Subhash, the 34-year-old techie who died by suicide, revealed shocking allegations against his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family in his 24-page note and accompanying video.

According to Atul, he married Nikita in 2019 after meeting her through a matchmaking website, and the couple welcomed a son in 2020. However, tensions arose when Nikita and her family allegedly pressured him to provide large sums of money for setting up businesses. When Atul refused, arguments ensued, and Nikita left their home in 2021, taking their son with her.

In 2022, Atul claimed that Nikita filed multiple cases against him and his family, accusing them of cruelty, dowry harassment, and even murder. The Singhania family also accused Atul of harassing Nikita’s late father for dowry, which they claimed led to his death—though this case was later withdrawn. Atul alleged these legal actions were intended to harass him and extort a significant sum as alimony and maintenance, including a ₹3 crore demand to settle the dispute.

The court eventually directed Atul to pay ₹80,000 per month for Nikita and their son’s maintenance, but he alleged that she demanded even more. Frustrated, Atul accused the judicial system of being biased in favor of women in such cases, writing, “The more I work hard and become better at my work, the more I and my family will be harassed and extorted, and the whole legal system will encourage and help my harassers.”

Atul’s note further accused Nikita and her mother, Nisha Singhania, of provoking him to end his life on two occasions. In his final words, he expressed hope that his death would put an end to the harassment faced by his elderly parents and brother, stating, “I may have destroyed my body, but it has saved everything I believe in.”

This case has sparked widespread discussions on the complexities of legal disputes, mental health struggles, and systemic challenges in addressing domestic conflicts.

New Allegations in Techie Atul Subhash’s Suicide Case

Following Atul Subhash’s tragic death, his brother, Bikas Kumar, lodged an abetment to suicide case against his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha, brother Anurag, and uncle Sushil Singhania.

Atul’s family claimed he was under immense stress due to the prolonged legal battles, which forced him to travel between Bengaluru and Jaunpur nearly 40 times. They further alleged that Nikita not only denied Atul access to their son but also demanded money for allowing him to meet the child.

In response to the allegations, Nikita’s uncle, Sushil Singhania, dismissed the claims as baseless and maintained that the family is innocent.

Atul’s death has ignited widespread outrage and debate, with many voicing concerns over the alleged misuse of the Dowry Prohibition Act and laws designed to protect women from cruelty by their husbands and in-laws. The incident highlights the need for balanced legal frameworks to prevent both genuine harassment and misuse of such provisions.
