This year, Radha Ashtami will begin on Tuesday, September 10, at 11:11 PM, and end on Wednesday, September 11, at 11:46 PM, according to Udayatithi. While the festival is observed throughout the day, the main celebrations typically occur in the afternoon.

Radha Ashtami carries deep spiritual significance, particularly within the Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism. Devotees celebrate by singing bhajans, reciting scriptures, and performing rituals. These practices not only honor Radha and Krishna but also help strengthen one’s devotion, making this a spiritually enriching time to reflect on Radha’s virtues and deepen one’s faith.

Radha Ashtami 2024 Date and Time

This year, Radhashtami will be celebrated with great enthusiasm from Tuesday, September 10, at 11:11 PM to Wednesday, September 11, at 11:46 PM. As per Drik Panchang, the Shubh Muhurat and Pooja timings are as follows:

On Radha Ashtami, devotees have a favorable 2-hour and 29-minute window for worshipping Radha, from 11:03 AM to 1:32 PM.

Jyeshtha Nakshatra will be in effect from the morning until 9:22 PM, after which Moola Nakshatra will begin.

Brahma Muhurta is from 4:32 AM to 5:18 AM. It’s important to note that there is no Abhijeet Muhurta on Radha Ashtami this year.

Radha Ashtami Yogas

Preeti Yoga: This period, lasting until 11:55 PM, is associated with harmony, love, and positive energy. It’s considered an ideal time for activities focused on relationships, emotional well-being, and spiritual practices.

Ravi Yoga: Starting at 9:22 PM and continuing until 6:05 AM on September 12, Ravi Yoga is believed to be especially beneficial for new ventures, performing auspicious rituals, and undertaking significant tasks. This yoga is thought to amplify the positive results of one’s efforts.

Radha Ashtami 2024 Rituals

Devotees begin worshipping Radharani on the eve of Radha Ashtami, with many also choosing to fast for the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. After taking a holy bath, the idol of Radha is placed at noon and adorned with flowers and fresh clothes.

Radharani is offered bhog, dhoop, and shringar, and all devotees participate in the Radha aarti, followed by receiving prasad. Chanting the Radha Gayatri mantra is a popular practice during this festival.
