Acclaimed filmmaker Suresh Sangaiah, best known for his debut film Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu, passed away on Friday night in Chennai. He breathed his last around 11 PM at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.
The sad news was shared by cinematographer Saran, who worked with Suresh on the 2017 critically praised movie.
Suresh had been battling jaundice and liver failure for some time and was under medical care. He is survived by his wife and two children.

About Suresh Sangaiah
Suresh Sangaiah began his journey in Tamil cinema as an assistant director to M Manikandan on the acclaimed film Kaaka Muttai. He later made his directorial debut with the low-budget dramedy Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu, starring Vidharth. His second film, Sathiya Sothanai, was completed just before the COVID-19 pandemic forced a nationwide theatre shutdown.
