Veteran actor Rajinikanth, aged 73, was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Monday night due to severe stomach pain, according to the Chennai Police.
As per reports from PTI, he is expected to undergo a planned medical procedure on Tuesday. Sources also confirmed that his condition remains stable.
So far, there has been no official statement from either his family or the hospital.
A report by Deccan Herald mentioned that a team of doctors is closely monitoring his health. The planned procedure, overseen by cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish, is set to take place in the Cath lab on Tuesday.

Rajinikanth’s Health Journey
In 2020, Rajinikanth, the famous actor, was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad because he was suffering from severe high blood pressure and extreme tiredness. The doctors treated him, and once his blood pressure returned to normal, he was discharged from the hospital on December 27. They advised him to take complete rest for one week to help with his recovery.
He had also undergone a kidney transplant in 2016. Because of this, his health needed special care. Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad issued a statement explaining that due to his post-transplant condition, unstable blood pressure, and age, it was important for him to rest fully and avoid any activities that could be risky, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The doctors closely monitored his blood pressure and made sure he was aware of the need to stay safe from the virus.
On December 22, 2020, Rajinikanth took a Covid-19 test, which thankfully came back negative. However, as a precaution, he decided to stay isolated to protect his health.
