In a significant move, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has decided to cancel the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination-2023 due to reports of paper leaks.

This decision was made on Saturday, the sixth day of protests by civil service aspirants who were concerned about the leaked question papers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s administration has also instructed for a re-examination to take place within the next six months.

CM Adityanath emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of examinations and vowed strict action against those responsible for compromising the hard work of aspiring candidates. He made this statement through a post on X.

The Lucknow police filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Friday regarding the leaked paper incident. Across the state, hundreds of candidates who took the exam have been protesting, demanding a reexamination. They argue that the fairness of the exam was compromised when a question paper circulated on social media just before the exam began.
