On Monday (January 9), Suchana Seth, the CEO and founder of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) company in Bengaluru, was arrested in Karnataka’s Chitradurga. She is accused of murdering her four-year-old son and was apprehended while transporting his body in a bag.
Authorities believe that the 39-year-old committed this terrible act to prevent her estranged husband from meeting their child. Seth, who established The Mindful AI Lab in 2020, has a master’s degree in Physics and was a top performer in Sanskrit during her academic years.

Suchana Seth arrived at a rented service apartment in North Goa’s Candolim on January 6, accompanied by her son, as per Paresh Naik, the inspector at Calangute police station. After a brief stay, Seth informed the apartment staff of her plan to travel to Bengaluru for work and requested a taxi. The staff suggested a more economical flight option, but she insisted on a taxi, which was arranged for her on January 8.
Upon cleaning the room after her departure, the staff discovered blood stains on a towel and promptly informed Calangute Police. The staff also noted that Seth’s four-year-old son was not seen when she left, and she had an unusually heavy bag.
When questioned by the police about the blood stains and her son’s absence, Seth claimed the stains were due to her monthly periods and provided an address where her son was supposedly with a friend in Margao town, South Goa.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the provided address was fake. The police contacted the taxi driver, who was en route to Bengaluru and had reached Chitradurga district in Karnataka, directing him to the nearest police station. Upon inspecting Seth’s bag, the Chitradurga police discovered the child’s body.
A team from Calangute Police rushed to Chitradurga, obtained a transit remand for the accused, and began the process of bringing her back to Goa. The police have notified the accused’s husband, Venkat Raman, who is currently in Jakarta, about the incident.
