Sanjay Singh, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was released from Tihar Jail following a bail grant by the Supreme Court regarding the Delhi excise policy case. He emphasized the ongoing struggle, noting that prominent AAP leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain remain incarcerated.
Singh expressed confidence in their eventual release, urging a continued focus on the struggle rather than celebration. Outside the jail, a significant gathering of AAP supporters awaited Singh’s release, highlighting the attention surrounding the case since his arrest last October by the Enforcement Directorate regarding alleged irregularities in the defunct Delhi excise policy.
AAP Sanjay Singh Out From Tihar
After leaving Tihar jail, Sanjay Singh, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), emphasized that now is not the time for celebration but for standing firm against what he called a “dictator government”.
According to Sanjay Singh, every AAP member must be prepared to fight. With key party figures like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain in jail, he stressed the importance of removing what he perceives as a dictatorial regime.
Singh expressed confidence that the jailed AAP leaders would be released soon. He was released himself on Wednesday evening, almost six months after being arrested in connection with a money laundering case related to a discontinued liquor policy.
Outside the jail, a crowd of AAP supporters eagerly awaited Sanjay’s release. They greeted him with drums, garlands, and flower petals as he emerged through gate number three.
The Supreme Court granted bail to Singh following no objections from the Enforcement Directorate. Singh left Delhi’s Tihar jail after officials processed the bail order.
It’s worth noting that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia are also detained in the same liquor policy case at Tihar jail.
Earlier today, Singh underwent a medical check-up at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) Hospital before his release. He returned to jail later this evening after the check-up.
Singh has been in Tihar Jail since October last year after being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
