With less than two months before the American election on November 5, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump are gearing up for their first presidential debate this week.
The US presidential debate will air on ABC News and be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis.
This will be Trump’s second debate in this election cycle. He previously faced off against then-President Joe Biden. After a disappointing performance raised concerns about his candidacy, Biden withdrew from the race on July 21 and endorsed Kamala Harris, who is now the current Vice President.
Kamala Harris officially secured the Democratic nomination during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held from August 19 to 22 in Chicago. At the convention, she chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
The first US presidential debate between Harris and Trump will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and will be hosted by ABC News. Both candidates have agreed to the format and rules of the event.
